1. Overview

Big Lap Buddy ("we", "our", or "us") is dedicated to protecting the privacy and security of travelers using our Android application and personal web portal hosted at biglapbuddy.doingthingspoorly.com. This Privacy Policy explains how data is handled in strict compliance with Google Play Developer Policies.

2. Data Collection & Usage

Big Lap Buddy operates on an offline-first architecture. All core features (maps, fuel planning, solar calculations, preparation checklists) function entirely without requiring an account or internet connection.

• Account Data (Optional): When you choose to use the Web Sync feature, we process your email address and optional rig name solely for user authentication and session management.
• Sync Data: Trip itineraries, custom campsite notes, preparation checklist items, and community road alert reports provided by you are stored locally on your device and transmitted via encrypted HTTPS to your web portal account.
• Location Data: Location access on Android is used locally on your device to display nearby campsites and calculate route distances. Location coordinates are never sold or tracked in the background.

3. Zero Data Sales & Third-Party Sharing

We NEVER sell, rent, or trade your personal information or trip data to third-party advertisers, data brokers, or marketing networks.

4. Data Retention & Security

All sync communications between the Big Lap Buddy Android app and the server use Industry-Standard Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS). Data retained on the server remains active only as long as your web sync account exists.

5. Account Deletion & User Rights (Google Play Compliant)

In accordance with Google Play's Account Deletion Policy, users have the absolute right to request the complete erasure of their account and all associated synchronized trip data.

To delete your account and associated server data, visit our web-based Account Deletion Portal at biglapbuddy.doingthingspoorly.com/account/delete or email us directly at developer@doingthingspoorly.com. Upon receiving a request, all associated server records will be permanently purged within 7 business days.
